SO, most characters have pretty major defining moments in their lives - moments that set them on their paths, ended up defining their morals and alignment and just who they are in general.
What if these moments could change? What if you could switch things around, to the extent where your character might end up as the polar opposite of the person they are today? That's the point of this AU. Take certain events from your character's past, change the outcome, and try to make the character themselves as different as you reasonable can. That's the fun in it, after all!
List your characters and how they've changed here, and then everyone'll be free to scroll through the thread and try to scout out ~opportunities for plots~. Or, if you just want to wing it, you can ask a staff member to pair up people for you. Be prepared if you choose the latter, though - our suggestions will undoubtedly be pretty :].
So I'll list my examples below.
ANYA JENKINS In this AU, Anya - or Anyanka, as she'd still be going by - never visited Sunnydale, never granted Cordelia's wish, and was never turned human by Giles. As such, she's still a cold, ruthless, and generally unfeeling vengeance demon - interested only in granting other people's chaotic vengeance wishes. The more brutal the effect, the better.
RUBY In this AU, Ruby decided to side with the Winchesters, rather than betray them to Lucifer. She may still be something of an anti-hero, fighting her demonic nature, but she is still all around a better person - having been softened up somewhat by her feelings and newfound relationship with Sam, she's generally a lot more willing to open up and show some compassion to others.
REGINA MILLS In this AU, Regina and Daniel managed to escape from Cora, leaving their old lives behind forever. They started over, in a cottage in the woods, and even had their own family. Regina has retained much of the kindness and the innocence of her youth, though she's matured somewhat since then, and remains a very maternal figure.
PHOEBE HALLIWELL In this AU, Phoebe chose her husband, Cole - The Source of All Evil - over her own sisters, who were slaughtered in Cole's aftermath. She has become the Queen of Hell, and has inherited quite a bit of power with that title. Unfortunately, she's hardly inclined to use it for good - including her empath abilities, which she now regularly uses to antagonize people.
MORGANA PENDRAGON Morgana's life-altering event is the rift that brought her to AM itself. In this AU, it didn't bring her here until much later - she's had a chance to suffer through all she would have in canon, leaving her hateful, bitter, and almost completely sadistic and evil.
RIDLEY DUCHANNES In this AU, Ridley was Claimed as Light instead of Dark, and got to remain with her family and continue with her schooling as she was supposed to. While still a bit mischievous and snarky, she's settled into a fairly regular lifestyle that's stabilized her quite a bit - though because she never turned Dark, she never met Link. In fact, her family's reputation still isolates her a lot from her schoolmates, and she's now a bit more withdrawn.
SARAFINE DUCHANNES Sarafine, too, was Claimed as Light instead of Dark, and generally lived a much happier life because of it. As a Natural, she's taken on a lot world-saving responsibility here on AM - though she still kind of...accidentally got pregnant at a rather early age, and having her daughter Claimed as Dark had an extremely devastating effect on her.
SLY COOPER In this AU, Sly choose to give up his life of crime permanently, instead of eventually going back to his old ways. He now serves in law enforcement, as Inspector Fox's partner, and has become devoted to pulling criminals off the street and stopping any trouble that might occur under his jurisdiction.
KATHERINE PIERCE In this AU, Katherine decided to trust Trevor to protect her, rather than trick him into turning her into a vampire. As such, she's still completely human - and still considerably innocent and trusting. The rifts have taken her from an even earlier time period, though - around 1495 - and because of this, she's even more lost and bewildered in this world than she would have been otherwise.

MR. GOLD
For Mr. Gold, his change was made when he decided to, instead of fearfully keeping his magic and abandoning his son, go through the magical portal with him and enter the human world. There, he and Baelfire lived much more normal lives than before and, without magic, Rumpelstiltskin managed to become a much better man than what he would become.
LOKI LAUFEYSON
In this AU, it was decided that Loki would be crowned over Thor. Without his jealousy and envy of Thor's throne as a child, he never developed into what he is today. Quite the opposite, actually - he became quite like his brother. Noble, kind and heroic, while retaining his intelligence and a hint of mischief. In this AU, Loki gained Mjolnir and was eventually crowned King of Asgard.
TONY STARK
In this AU, Tony decided that, instead of building a weapon to escape the Ten Rings, he would continue to build weapons for the Ten Rings. Eventually, he developed a suit quite unlike his Iron Man armor and began to perform the exact opposite of the work he does now - he became someone who incites war, using his powerful suit and intelligence to help the Ten Rings.
THE TENTH DOCTOR
In this AU, the Tenth Doctor never switched out of Time Lord Victorious mode. He grew mad with power and rage, becoming something that wasn't really the Doctor at all. Instead of becoming a flat-out villain, the Tenth Doctor became an intense anti-hero. Nobody got the chance he always gave them - he killed without mercy and broke all of the rules that he set forth for himself so long ago.
CORA MILLS
In this AU, Cora was never tripped by the Princess. So, she never developed her hatred for royalty - or, at least, it never grew to the point where she wanted to act on it. She stayed a lowly miller for the rest of her life, and eventually taught her daughter, Regina, how to do the job. She was a much more loving mother than she would have been, had she become royalty.
PITCH BLACK
In this AU, Kozmotis Pitchiner refused to fall to the manipulation of the Fearlings. As such, he was eventually relieved of his duty and went on being a much kinder Spirit, one who used Fear only to lightly push people in the right direction instead of outright tormenting everyone and using people's fears to gain power.
KARKAT VANTAS / KANKRI VANTAS
In this AU, Karkat/Kankri was born Highblooded. Instead of becoming filled with rage and anger, Karkat became much more condescending than ever before, filling the role of heir perfectly. Kankri, however, became incredibly angry, since people still refused to listen to him. As an adult, he would go on to become the ruler of Alternia/Beforus and he was incredibly cruel. That, however, is in the future. Nowadays, Karkat is just kind of a condescending prick, while Kankri is incredibly angry.
JOSHUA KIRYU
In this AU, Joshua had much more hope for society than he did before. Instead of killing himself and taking over the Reaper's Game as he did, he decided to continue living and try his hardest to help society however he could, in a much more supportive way than the Composer would. He never even made contact with the UG or the Reapers, and generally was a better person for it.
KILLIAN JONES
In this AU, Killian never encountered Rumpelstiltskin after Milah ran away with him. The two of them lived happily and continued to sail the sea as pirates. Killian was, of course, much less hateful and vengeful than he is now - he's much more the adventurous, if slightly douchebaggy, pirate we saw before Milah was killed.
ERIDAN AMPORA
In this AU, Feferi never stopped being Eridan's moirail. As such, the two were able to work out their problems and there was no violent confrontation between Sollux and Eridan. Feferi, Eridan and Sollux all survived and, eventually, Eridan and Feferi became matesprits.
CASTIEL
In this AU, Castiel was taken from an entirely different point. He was taken when he gained god-like power after absorbing all of the souls in purgatory, and he went totally mad with it.
ULQUIORRA CIFER
In this AU, Ulquiorra decided to remain totally loyal to Aizen instead of going with the Espada. He continued on to help Aizen with his endeavors, including helping him attack his former friends. Ulquiorra's personality has not changed much, but he goals certainly have.
KLARION
In this AU, Klarion is a Lord of Order instead of a Lord of Chaos. Instead of spreading chaos wherever he goes, Klarion now stops villains, helps people out and does generally heroic things. His love of chaos has been replaced by a love of order, and he's become one of Earth's most loved superheroes for all the work he does. Teekl is still kind of evil, though.
KHAN NOONIEN SINGH
In this AU, Khan decided to, instead of enacting his vengeance, allow Kirk and Spock to arrest the Admiral and return him to Starfleet. Khan himself was given a Captain position in Starfleet, as well as a ship. His desire for combat was never quelled, however, pushing him into an anti-heroic role, rather than a villainous one.
CIEL PHANTOMHIVE
In this AU, Ciel's parents were not killed in a fire and Ciel was raised as any Earl was. Instead of becoming an anti-hero, he became much more of a civilian. A very rich, slightly snobby civilian, but a civilian nonetheless.
SEBASTIAN MICHAELIS
N/A :]
ERIK LENSHERR
In this AU, Erik didn't kill Sebastian Shaw. Instead, he listened to his friend and decided that things could be finished peacefully. When the beach was fired upon, he didn't turn the missiles back at the humans - he simply deactivated them and dropped them into the ocean. From there, he and Charles went on to found the "Xavier and Lensherr School for Gifted Youngsters", which was a highly esteemed school for mutants. The two of them were able to convince the government that mutants aren't dangerous and, together, began to put a stop to anti-mutant prejudice.
ELEVENTH DOCTOR
In this AU, Clara wasn't there to enter the Doctor's timestream. Every last one of the Doctor's successes became failures and he was, in the end, transformed into something totally different. Now going by the name Valeyard, the Eleventh Doctor has become a dark, twisted version of his former self who hates just about everything and would rather destroy a planet that save it.
CELESTIA LUDENBERG
In this AU, Celes never discovered her talent for gambling, so... she became rather average, in the end. She was never Super High School Level, so she didn't get sent to Hope's Peak and wasn't subject to Monobear's School Life of Mutual Killing. However... due to her hatred of the boring lifestyle she led. After discovering the existence of "Hope's Peak Academy", Celes used her then-unknown intelligence and skill with manipulation to take over the school and trap the Super High School Students she was so jealous of. From there, she filled them with despair, taking away the hope she envied so much.

EPONINE THENARDIER Since Eponine doesn't really have an alignment to speak of, her life-altering event more...changed her life than her perspective on things. In her AU, the Thenardiers never lost their money or their inn, but instead grew even more rich from the money they swindled from their customers. Eponine grew up just as spoiled, if not more, than she did in her childhood, and very quickly learned to use her charms to manipulate people and generally make life better for herself. She's even more selfish and spoiled than her canon self, but she hides it well behind a mask of innocent coquetry.
OSWIN OSWALD In Oswin's AU, her conversion never got to be completed. Halfway through, she broke free and escaped through a rift, but it was already too late. Her mind soon succumbed to the conversion, mere minutes after she came through to AM's world, but it was slightly...flawed. The Daleks that had performed the conversion were, after all, insane Daleks who, while intelligent, were too mad to know just what they were doing. Her mind is Dalek in all things but the amount of hatred it would take to give her any reason to attempt to escape her human prison by herself. But while her willpower to stay alive holds out on that end, she's still searching and seeking to find someone to complete her conversion and allow her mind to be in the body it truly belongs in...
CLARA OSWIN OSWALD Instead of occurring in canon, Clara's AU actually happened on AM, a little while after she came through her rift. In it, she and the Ninth Doctor never crossed paths, and instead of going along with him, she contracted with Kyubey, wishing herself onto the Tenth Doctor's TARDIS. Unfortunately, this very nearly caused a paradox with her and Oswin in the same place and because she was the cause, she was shunned from ever traveling with them. Her Soul Gem constantly on the verge of overwhelm, Clara was conditioned with the rest of the contractors to work for Hazama and the rest of Team Snake. She purifies her soul gem out of necessity only and rather than being a villain, she's merely just...neutrally apathetic.
LENA DUCHANNES Remember that daughter of Sarafine's that went Dark? Here she is :]. Thing is, though, when Lena went Dark, she went Dark, darker than even canon!Sarafine. And while her mother is doing a lot of world-saving things, she's doing a lot of world-destroying things. Lena is more your typical Dark Caster in terms of behavior though. Emotionless, bloodthirsty and just all-around uncaring towards everyone and anyone, she's sunk so far into the Darkness that it would take a miracle for her to go back.
ALICE LIDDELL In this AU, Alice (or at least, her Wonderland avatar) was killed by the Queen of Hearts in their final battle, forcing her to give into her own insanity. Instead of being supposedly cured and released, Alice's condition worsened into outright bloodthirsty ruthlessness, and she was finally buried deep in the bowels of Rutledge to live out her days attempting to attack the orderlies and nurses assigned to her cell. How fortunate that a rift happened to open in the confines...

GARCHOMP Garchomp... never met her trainer, and eventually evolved on her own, which was great and all, except for the fact that without any sensible outlet for her aggression, she just became a monstrous Garchomp that killed anything that trespassed on her territory. Fun stuff.
MITHOS YGGDRASILL Martel didn't die! Mithos separated the two worlds briefly, then revived the world tree using its seed and brought them back together. Then he continued to fight injustice and indiscrimination while also being the most powerful person in the world - the result being that while he's a bit arrogant at times, he's matured greatly and handles the responsibilities he's taken upon pretty well. He's still super protective of Martel, though, and is kind of a social justice warrior - just one who so happens to be able to stop time and open rifts in your area if you piss him off.
FLUFFY Because rewriting the entire hivemind and how it works is not something I'm going to attempt at this very moment. In this AU, Fluffy didn't meet with Nine, Ridley and Clara - and thus, couldn't come to terms with his growing emotions, instead viewing them as a mental illness. Unable to deal with the overload of feelings, he infected the entirety of the hivemind with emotions, and was then horrified as it fell into chaos. Watching everything his whole species had worked so hard to achieve fall apart, he lashed out at anyone he met mentally, and was eventually killed.
THE CONDESCE In this AU, she was actually born as a lowblood - switching places with the Handmaid, effectively. Driven by a need to conquer, she established quite a gathering among the lowbloods, using her considerable psionic abilities to fight off highblood soldiers. The Signless eventually won her over to his cause, but when he was caught and executed, she escaped with a small band of loyalists and fought a guerilla war for several sweeps. Due to being integrated into troll society instead of held apart as nobility, while she was still quite proud, she was neither cruel nor aloof, and cared a lot for both her followers and the Signless and his main circle.
SHIO Nova consumed her consciousness when her core was first extracted. She became Nova, ate the world and then left for another one. Fun stuff.
MADOKA Kyubey showing her how the entire world is built upon contracts makes her incredibly bitter. She contracts to become an Incubator herself, and thus becomes an emotionless husk with only a faint memory of who she used to be.
LILYNETTE GINGERBACK AU where she and Starrk became shinigami after dying and she's his bratty lieutenant. She and Yachiru have a relationship that is half bitter rivalry where they feud and cause tons of chaos and half best friends where they... cause tons of chaos in concert. She actually gets on pretty well with Kyouraku but she still hates Ukitake even if he does give her tons of candy.
TIER HARRIBEL She never chose to stop eating other Hollows, and became renowned as the one who killed Barragan. She established her own empire, with herself as Queen, and was feared due to being cold, inscrutable and without mercy for anyone who betrayed or disobeyed her. While she still cared a great deal about her Fraccion, she was much more ambitious, and incredibly pragmatic - if she encountered an obstacle, she simply devoured more Hollows outside of her army to gain more strength. In her opinion, she would never be able to put an end to the feeding of the strong and the weak - so the better choice was to ensure she was the strongest around, and thus protect those who were loyal to her.
SCP 053 Less of a good!AU and more of a future one, where Abby didn't meet 682 and feels completely out of place in a foreign world that hates her solely for existing. She can't empathize or understand anyone else, and thus wanders around, doing what she likes and leaving a trail of the dead, all the while feeling resentful that she can't feel as if she belongs.
HAO ASAKURA His mother doesn't die, and instead trains Hao to become the very best, like no one ever was. He dedicates his life to saving people, but his great power still frightens most of them, and eventually he gives up on helping people individually, becomes the Shaman King and makes the world a consistently better place for as long as his soul lasts. Then he just goes to chill where past Kings go in the Great Spirit. But no, he'd be close to how he was in his first life - compassionate, with an enthusiasm for life and all the cool stuff in the world, but also probably still kind of a pompous shithead when he felt like teasing people.
NAGITO KOMAEDA Nagito learned of the presence of SHSL Despair early, and took advantage of his luck to enact a complex plan and kill all of them. However, as the school had already been set up as a barricade, and the world outside was still dangerous, he then enacted his own scenario of mutual murder to ensure that the group who eventually left the school would be the honed embodiment of true Hope, and thus capable of saving the world from despair completely. He let the group find and execute him at the end, saying it was his duty to be their final stepping stone to overcome the despair in their hearts.

um these are walls of text not sorry :] (no though i am whoops ; ; ) I'll finish the rest later! Princess Celestia In this AU, friendship is not magic. :OOOOO Celestia lost her initial struggle with Nightmare Moon a thousand years ago. Her connection to the Elements of Harmony broke too soon and she, rather than her sister, ended up sealed away.
She was, for lolpony reasons, sealed away in the sun. During Nightmare Moon's eternal night, this was complete isolation -- Celestia had nothing but her own thoughts and the blinding, overbearing light to keep her company. And being alone for that long messes with you. She cycled though quite a few emotions. At first, it was mostly grief over what had happened to her sister, fear of what would happen to her former subjects, and regret as she mulled over every possible thing she could have done differently. Eventually her thoughts took down a darker and angrier path, annnd finally she burned out of that, giving in to despair and misery. She'd lost and there was nothing she could do. Even if she managed to come back, she couldn't turn back time and help all those who had undoubtedly suffered under Nightmare Moon, and it was all her fault for losing.
Without her around, there was no one to nudge Twilight into making friends and discovering the elements of harmony. Therefore, when Discord and Sombra escaped a thousand years later, there was nothing to stop them from carving out niches and further-fracturing the now dark Equestria. Likewise, there was no one to stop Chrysalis and the changelings.
It took her far longer to escape than it took Nightmare Moon to do so in the original canon because, unlike her sister, Celestia didn't want to leave her prison. She'd given up entirely and subconsciously feared facing the world she had failed to protect. Two thousand years is a decent ballpark estimate, because it's long enough for the seal to wear off completely, forcing her to simply fall back to Equestria, as she no longer had the willpower to cling to her exile, or anything else.
Celestia can't bear to face others again. She continues to isolate herself and hides from others underneath her lifeless, broken demeanor. Her identity is a secret, and a source of shame for her. She'd like nothing more than to die, but that's easier said than done for a goddess, and she hardly has the willpower to make an actual effort.
When forced to interact with others, her former maternal nature manifests as overwhelming sorrow and pity -- it must be so awful for them, living in a world like this. It certainly is for her. Therefore, she's prone to "ending their misery." It's the only thing that makes her feel useful anymore.
---------------------------------- Also here's some people who don't exist on the board. :] Icc shenanigans idk.
Flonne This AU branches off from one of the bad endings of the first game, where Flonne decides demons truly are evil and attempts to kill Laharl. Rather than fling herself at him and get killed herself, she hesitates -- more out of cold feet than actual strategy. Biding her time and slowly working on a plan gives her a subconscious chance to think it over and fret, because the poor angel trainee just can't stomach actually committing murder, even if it's of an irredeemably evil monster. After he becomes overlord, she finally strikes, and succeeds through some miracle. She did, in all technicality, succeed in her supposed mission to assassinate the Overlord, even if she unknowingly ruined her chance at the real point of the assignment. Publicly, she's hailed as a hero who stuck a blow at the demonic menace by keeping them in a state of chaos. She still doubts if what she did was right...but with all the other angels praising her, it can't be that bad, right?
Meanwhile, Vulcanus's plan continues as per usual, and he eventually begins his angelic assault on Earth. With the Netherworld still stuck in civil war thanks to the power vaccum, and Seraph Lamington too distracted by his plans falling apart to repair things himself until its too late, Vulcanus takes over both the human world and Celestia.
Just like in canon, Vulcanus has nothing but contempt for Flonne, since she was picked for an important mission that he would have been much better at. Her "success," however, makes him wonder if there's exploitable worth underneath that ditzy exterior. This time, she gets her promotion to archangel from him...and rather early, too!
Flonne continues to doubt, seeing Vulcanus's methods as overly brutal and..mean. :c But, he convinces the easily-manipulated lil archangel that sometimes bad things have to happen for the greater good -- after all, if she hadn't killed her friend Laharl, there would be evil demons running about.
Over time, she slowly involves into an overly-zealous knight templar type due to her company and her environment. She still fights for love and justice - at least, in her own mind - but experience has taught her that the path to peace and happiness is often paved with blood, warfare, and hardship. She's lost her bubbly demeanor, her general optimism and care for others now tempered by the weary burden of forcing goodness on worlds that aren't ready to accept it.
Disgaea 4 never happens, because with humans under the thumb of the angels, there's no shortage of forced awe and fear to energize the Netherworlds and Celestia. No financial troubles, no overload of prinnies, no governmental troubles. (Which is relevant because her canon point is post-Disgaea 4. So.)
Kuuko The opposite of apathetic neutral is apathetic neutral. Kuuko does what she wants, and she doesn't care about helping or hurting others. But changing her motivations can change her actions.
In this AU, Kuuko never fell in love with Nyaruko. They fought constantly growing up as per canon, but that one time Nyaruko saved her from bullies so that she could beat her up herself never happened, therefore preventing that infatuation from sparking. Kuuko regarded her, for the most part, with apathy -- fighting her was a burden, and one she was happy to eventually be rid of.
As "teenagers," Kuuko still ends up working for slavers and smugglers, whereas still Nyaruko works for the Space Defense Force. When Nyaruko defeats Kuuko and her comrades, disbanding the operation on Earth, in this 'verse Kuuko doesn't switch alliances. After all, in canon she did so solely to be with Nyaruko...but in the au, she can't stand her. :]
Instead, she and her co-workers continued their business on other planets and worlds. This Kuuko doesn't differ from the prime Kuuko in terms of morality or personality -- she's still the same softspoken otaku who doesn't care what happens so long as she has her vidya gaems. But without the desire for Nyaruko's company and approval, there's nothing stopping her from actively hurting innocents to get what she wants.

HAZAMA
Yuuki Terumi is the single most despised, vile name in all of Blazblue: every horrid, pestilential event to occur in that world's history can, in some way, be traced either directly or indirectly to him. But what if life was carved both from him, and in spite of him?
The process to combine Yuuki Terumi and his proxy body, Kazuma Kuvaru into one being was interrupted, and rudely so at just the right time by the brother of Mitsuyoshi. Catching the being that was neither Terumi nor Kazuma at the moment of fusion with a fierce strike intent on ending their lives, the chain reaction and burst of energy disorientated and confused not just the two Terumis, but also Tomonori, whose disruption would irrevocably change history. Escaping in a haze out a window, and falling several stories to the cold hard ground outside, the body once known as Kazuma Kuvaru survived miraculously, and went undiscovered. Assuming Yuuki Terumi had fled, Tomonori chased out, looking for his target with hatred filling his eyes, blind to the fact that his soul festered within the body as intended: but muddled. Neither achieving dominance over the other and the terms of fusion confused and not entirely explained, the two beings subsumed one another, becoming a singular, amnesic human being, neither Kazuma nor Terumi, and unaware of either. Given no help nor guidance, the muddled being maintained enough intellect and competence to evade being seen, without really understanding who or what he was hiding from, yet never was capable of fully summoning the dark, corrosive malice inside of him to strike out. Left to fend alone or many years, the being evaded human contact for as long as he could, infuriated, confused, and afraid of whoever he laid eyes on.
This form would eventually go on to, as fate would have it, be rescued by and after much deliberation, assist the new Six Heroes, with Tomonori in the place he would have filled otherwise. After much intervention from Trinity and the cunning Nine who saw opprotunity to gain ground against the Black Beast that was otherwise impossible to garner (without Terumi's intervention, there was no reliable way to fight the Black Beast, and Bloodedge died very early on, setting the entire war effort back by a decade), allowed him onboard. Forming the shadows of a connection again with a confused and distraught Trinity, the fused being's connection to Kazuma grew whenever faced with Trinity: but Terumi threatened to overcome him often. Exceedingly often. As Nine and her magics invaded, violated, and scrapped his mind for any wrack of intelligence on the Black Beast they could harness, Terumi gained more and more control each time, and threatened dominance over Kazuma's quasi-soul and the fused being. However, it stayed back and waited, still dazed from their messy fusion, but also wanting to remain incognito for the time being, and strike when it best suited him. Terumi eventually came to almost subsume all of the fused soul however, when he was introduced once again to Ouroborous, and the majority of his memories flooded into the fused being's mind. Giving them the majority of the information they required, the only thing fully keeping Terumi at bay was non-permanent ownership of Ouroborous.
What the dormant soul did not count on though, was a steady revival of Kazuma's weak and meager soul, brought back from both the trauma of Ouroborous, but the warmth and care of Trinity, who, despite his sins against her, continued to hold nothing but love for Kazuma. Over time, the destructive soul of Terumi would gain more and more dominance, and even take over the body completely for shorts spans of time: but it was always forced back abnormally. Eventually, it was discovered why: Kazuma's soul, through his continued talks with Trinity, even though the majority occurred when comatose or otherwise preoccupied, listened, and grew stronger, which in turn flavored Terumi's darkness with a shade of white, turning it from the pitch black it was, to lighter shade of black. With the absolute hold of darkness held aloft then by Kazuma's fusion, all encompassing evil never took hold as it did when Kazuma was alive: as such, the new being that formed from both souls began to build it's identity upon the backs of Terumi and Kazuma, despite their attempts to break free, carving his own life in spite of their combined pasts.
The war waged on for many years, and became deadlier than ever before. The combined being eventually found itself more and more solidified from the influence of Kazuma's entire positive being. As it received the memories of both beings, it failed to be corrupted, and while was constantly changed, shaken, and jaded by the horrible visions that came to it, the constant lurking addiction of pure evil that would have allowed Terumi to live on through him never subsumed him. After many many years of torturous study, the Six Heroes garnered more and more technologies and methods to combat the Black Beast: but they never had enough time to implement them. Finally, the Black Beast slavered at their very doorstep, and destroyed 90% of the planet: as it charged forward to finish off the last 10%, Tomonori was slaughtered under it's fangs, and the rest of the heroes were soon to follow. It was then, the fused being intervened, as the conflict had spilt into the place where he was housed, and upon seeing Trinity close to death, lept to action by himself. Choosing to deny whatever manufactured him for the sake of the future and present, a choice Kazuma was too weak to make in the past, the fused Terumi fought off the Black Beast for an entire year, holding the corrupting influence of Ouroborous at bay, saving the Six Heroes, and giving them time to build with the knowledge he gave them, taking Bloodedge's place in history and allowing the Dark War to be won in the years following his sacrifice.

SPARDA
In this AU, the Legendary Dark Knight never earned that name. While his betrayal of the Creator alongside Mundus still saw them cast down from Heaven and turned into the first devils, the mighty lieutenant never met Eva. Without the love that warmed his heart and turned him away from his master's cause, he continued to serve Mundus faithfully, striking out as his mighty sword in a campaign of invasion that saw the human realm entirely consumed by the hordes of Hell.
Made complacent by his ultimate victory, however, Mundus allowed his rule to stagnate over the centuries. Uprisings were sloppily dealt with, and Sparda was sent to and fro almost without pause to squash one fledgling rebellion after the next, whether by humans trying desperately to take back their freedom from their overlords or by demons who believed they would make better leaders. Inevitably, even Sparda smoldered with that same unrest, his faith in his master's leadership beginning to waver.
He was smarter, though, than the many rebels he had exterminated. He kept his seditious thoughts quiet, carefully screening his subordinates to gauge their own opinions of the King of Demons. He discovered, to his surprise, that of all the generals who it was thought could possibly usurp Mundus, Sparda's own name was the one most commonly spoken. Bolstered by these whispered votes of confidence, he began to quietly garner support, carefully choosing those few underlings he could most trust to follow his own leadership. He laid his plans for decades, subtly manipulating his contemporaries and colleagues to pile problem after problem on Mundus' plate, gradually undermining his rule.
When the time was right... he struck. After a bout of masterful oration had stirred up rebellion in the very hearts of Mundus' greatest strongholds, Sparda made use of the distraction to lead a strike force against the citadel where resided the seat of his master's power. They struck fast, hard and without warning, carving a bloody path through the edifice to the throne room. With the castle in disarray, and his soldiers entirely preoccupied with fending off the violent uprising outside, Mundus was left aghast at the notion of his most trusted general betraying him. That shock soon twisted into seething rage, and with only a moment's hesitation in the face of Sparda's quite vocal vote of no confidence, he stormed into battle against his subordinate.
The battle was every bit as titanic as Sparda had expected. Neither warrior held back even the tiniest scrap of his enormous power, and when the hours-long duel was over, the citadel lay half-ruined, gutted and scarred by great explosions of demonic power... Sparda quelled the rebellion he had started by emerging on the balcony outside the throne room, letting the whole city gaze upon the severed head of the deposed King of Demons. Sparda's blood coup was complete.
In the centuries that followed, Sparda rebuilt the kingdom he had taken by force and brought it from strength to strength. He twisted the human realm into a barren mockery of its previous life, an annex of his hellish domain in form as well as function. The humans were kept cowed by the might of Sparda's rule, and even whispers of defiance were utterly stamped out by his enforcers. Even the radiant forces of Heaven, which had sat back in hope that a light would shine through this darkness from humanity itself, marched against his holdings to liberate the humans. Sparda refused to repeat Mundus' mistakes, trusting not in the armies marshalled by his lieutenants but in his own ability to take the field and lead his hordes to decisive victory against the angels that had cast him out so very long ago.
From the ashes of Mundus' destruction had arisen a ruler mightier than he had ever been. Sparda ruled with an iron fist as the Legendary Dark King.

TOOTHLESS In this AU, when Hiccup had shot Toothless down from the sky, the boy crumbled under the pressure of his society and attempted to kill the dragon. However, faking his resignation, Toothless overpowered the young Viking and fled from the scene. The Night Fury harbored resentment for the Vikings, and especially Hiccup, for both the attempt on his life and his loss of taking to the sky. Unable to escape the island of Berk, the Night Fury made a home of a mountainside cave. On the anniversary of his downfall, to spite the Vikings, the dragon would climb his mountain and rain hell upon the village of Berk for three endless nights. Henceforth, the Night Fury was named Níðhöggr, escaped from the roots of Yggdrasil and bringer of Ragnarök.
ROXY LALONDE Unable to overcome her alcoholism, the Roxy in this AU sunk into such a depression that her God Tier was inverted and she began stealing Space, itself. In the swirling vortex of a saucy, depressed 16-year-old girl, everything within all of Space would be stolen until nothing is left except an empty Void.
CARMELITA FOX In the earlier days of her career, Carm screwed up pretty badly. It was evident the criminal was bound to get away and everything else that could possibly make the situation worse, pretty much did happen. It was only when Sly stepped in to help nab the real bad guy that Carmelita was promoted. However, this time, as the senior Inspector chewed the fox out for slipping up so badly on this night, something in the young woman snapped. Throwing her badge into the dirt that was now her disillusioned view of "the law," Agent Carmelita Fox became one of the most ruthless bounty hunters in France.
SOCK Without the stillbirth of what was supposed to be his newest sibling, Sock's homicidal nature was left without a trigger and such feelings remained dormant within his subconscious. Instead, they manifested into what his parents referred to as nightmares. Without these murderous tendencies, Sock nurtured his good-natured disposition. However, still feeling conflicted due to his nightmares and his insufficiency in aiding the downtrodden, the boy was still driven to suicide. Though, this time around, he had the good fortune to meet with God. Feeling pity for Sock, she granted him another chance to do good; become an Earthbound Angel and Guardian for his assigned human.

Jefferson collects his pay and returns to Grace, but not before buying the stuffed rabbit Grace had wanted at the market.
