Cbox Name: LollipopVanity
Nicknames: Saturn, Plannit, Planet, Planeta, That One Loser Nobody Likes
Main Account: Archie Hopper
Who else do you play?: No one :c
How did you find us?: Kyt sent me a link :D And she was all "Hey, these people are saying you suck, come defend your honor". I'm here instead to provide proof to your claims.
Category: Canon (Once Upon a Time)
Ranking: Civilian
Reason for being on AM: Riffs? I guess?
Basic Details
Age: 47 physically
Species: Human, then cricket, then human again
Personality: Archie has always been a do-gooder to the core and likely always will be. And as the fabled personification of a human conscience, he does his best to steer others onto that same path without outright forcing his moral code onto everyone. While he sees actions as largely black and white, he views people as grey - no one is inherently evil and while someone might do something truly awful, he likes to think there was a reason behind it. The action is never condoned, of course, but he still likes to acknowledge the noble intent behind it - seeing the good in everyone as it were. Archie believes any given person can be redeemed if they truly want and strive for it.
Even as the acting moral compass, however, he has a small tendency to be weak-willed if intimidated enough (a trait that had been significantly highlighted by the curse), and he will immediately hate himself if he ever allows for his own personal integrity to be compromised.

There was one chance he didn’t take. A singular, good-intentioned chance he couldn’t bear to seize at the time it was presented to him. The doctor could only stand on the other side of the street staring in, umbrella and a docile dalmatian’s leash in hand. Archie wanted so badly to walk into the pawnshop, to visit the broker inside, and ask whatever became of his son.
He wanted to assume the best, that he had been granted the happy reunion that he so clearly needed, all based on the fact that Mr. Gold was still very much alive. But in the times he had seen the pawnbroker since their talk (he preferred not to think of it as a session, as sessions are typically a paid-for service), there was no look of relief or muted happiness, and he couldn’t help but notice that he was as alone as he had ever been.
If there was no difference in surface demeanor, Archie felt he could have written it off as Mr. Gold being Mr. Gold. No one knew about this long lost son of his, and if there was a reason for that, it would only make sense for him to want it to continue that way (where the enigma of a pawnbroker was concerned, anyway; if it were anyone else it would be completely baffling). But that wasn’t the case; Mr. Gold was noticeably different to those who paid any mind. He was sullen, curt, and far more condescending than normal, as if things didn’t happen like they should have. Archie would have never guessed it could happen, but he was actually worried about the pawnbroker.
However, at that particular point in time as he stood motionless on the sidewalk, he thought nothing more of his desire to inquire than self-serving, idle gossip. He made it a point to avoid gossip wherever possible, and always tried his best to stay out of the business of others outside the psychiatric office. And so he let the opportunity slip him by, thinking he was sticking to his principles steadfast, and turned to continue on with his day.
It wasn’t until some short few days later that he decided that it wasn’t truly against his otherwise strict moral code to simply ask how things had gone; not if the right steps were taken. Conveniently, it was a revelation made on a day he already expected Mr. Gold to pay a visit of his own accord: rent day. His plan had only been devised to help, as he was certain the rent collector would not actively seek it out on his own again, and it was never a good idea to keep everything bottled up; no supposed cricket could let that continue in good conscience. Further, it would be within the confines of his office. He would not let this second chance go too easily.
