NPC Creator: Spartan291 NPC Usage: Recurring, usage may be expanded as time goes on as well as possibly being reapped as a different NPC group and permissions expanded. NPC Permissions: Spartan291
Name: 71 different individuals, ranging from the 24 ODSTs onboard as the vessel's combat detachment and the 37 scientists, engineers and ONI personnel present onboard during the ship's escape from Reach, as well as several AI cores present within the ship's manifest. Alias: Many Age: 27 to 81 Archetype: Neutral/ Anti Hero
Personality: Incredibly varied from person to person and group to group. History: A collection of UNSC personnel that had been present on Reach, namely within the prestigious Olympus Tower that had served as ONI's headquarters as well as their center for research and development efforts, the individuals comprising the crew of the UNSC Basilisk came from a wide range of life styles, from the battle hardened veterans comprising the ODST force to that of an everyday civilian simply contracted by ONI for their talents as scientists or engineers. When the planet came under Covenant siege in late summer of 2552, UNSC HIGHCOMM made a command decision to enact the Cole Protocol, erasing or securing any sources of information that could have led the Covenant back to Earth. The evacuation of on site personnel was given top priority, as well as the recovery of valuable or classified research materials and many of the military prototypes present within the facility - assigning four ODST teams to the task under the command of Sierra A291, the UNSC retreated, managing to recover the vast majority of the assets present within the facility and load them onto the UNSC Basilisk for safe transport back to Earth.
Breaking off from its engagement with the Covenant's naval forces in orbit, the Basilisk picked up its cargo and passengers from low orbit before proceeding to execute a successful slipspace jump away from Reach to a random set of coordinates as per Cole Protocol, intending to change course to return to Earth afterwards - experiencing an unexplained accident while in transit, however, the ship went missing in action, presumed lost with all hands.
Powers/Abilities:
ODST: A group composed of veterans that have already achieved excellence in both standard duties as well as having already served as members of another branch of the UNSC special forces, the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers are an all volunteer unit made up of both the best and craziest the human race had to offer as of the 2160s onwards. While each soldier tends to specialize in at least one specific field, every member of the branch is expected to be able to adapt to and perform the duties of another member on the spot in the event of WIAs, MIAs or KIAs. Each and every trooper is lethal on their own, and it is widely accepted that a single ODST is an even match for an entire platoon's worth of Marine regulars. The Basilisk's complement has 24 ODSTs on its roster, a total of four squads.
UNSC Materials Group: Much of the research conducted within the Olympic Tower on Reach was aimed towards increasing the effectiveness of UNSC technology against the Covenant's, as well as developing completely new means of fighting the alien conglomerate's genocidal campaign - as a result, many of the scientists and engineers brought aboard the Basilisk were members of the UNSC's Materials Group. Many of them among the best and brightest that humanity had to offer at the time, the scientists on the Basilisk come from a wide range of disciplines, from physics to AI sciences and even nanotechnology, and many of them are particularly skilled at reverse engineering foreign technologies and even improving upon them.
ONI: Rescued from the organization's headquarters on the UNSC's most heavily defended fortress planet, it should come as little surprise that many of the individuals aboard the Basilisk are ONI personnel. Feared and both respected and reviled alike within even the UNSC itself, the shadowy organization has always operated with astonishingly little oversight from UNSC HIGHCOMM, and has demonstrated both a surprising amount of freedom to act as it pleases with little in terms of repercussions but while exhibiting much in terms of influence and power. Officially made up of three divisions or "Sections", the first and second Sections are responsible for espionage and propaganda, while the infamous Section III has gained much notoriety from organizing and running the UNSC's black ops, the most well known of which by 2552 being the SPARTAN II program. Unofficially and technically nonexistant, Section Zero is known to only a small handful of individuals and is responsible for counter intelligence and oversight within the organization, created specifically to protect ONI's interests by keeping the other Sections in line from the shadows and either recovering or hunting down and destroying rogue cells within the organization.
Weaknesses:
Only Human: In spite of all of their skills and abilities, every individual aboard the vessel is, for all intents and purposes, just an ordinary human - the ODSTs may put up much more fight, but they can all be harmed and killed in the same manner as any other person.
