Raveners are not mindless monsters - few of Eliza's sons and daughters actually are! Raveners in particular are as intelligent as human beings. This thread is a record of known Raveners, their names, their personal items and backgrounds.
Feel free to make a Ravener if you want to!
Format:
Name: ((The Ravener's chosen name - each picks their own when they become Raveners, male or female. They tend to choose odd names... like Mr. Bitingston, Ratatat, Damascus, Lohir, or Fubar, for examples, but take great care to have a unique name - individuality is a huge part of Ravener identity.))
Family: ((Raveners tend to band together into a social unit called a Squad, comprised of four to eight members. Often, they pick a squad name based on utility rather than anything else - examples including Foodrunner One, Scout Four, or Guardian, but occasionally choose another name that suits them.))
Personal Items: ((These are personal identifiers, and very VERY important to Raveners for the expression of their personal identities. Almost always these have something to do with their background. Practicality is their focus - they value very few things that are beautiful but useless.))
Appearance: ((Not all Raveners look alike... Especially among the older ones. Scars, further personalization of their bodies via braids, piercings, and dyes, different fur colorations and different numbers of eyes, these things are common))
Personality:
Background: ((They've all got a story... Even if they do have their origin in common. A Ravener starts out life as part of a litter of Devourers, and once they eat their fill for the first time they ascend in intelligence to human levels from the animalistic base, an event known as 'awakening'. Some awaken each other, some awaken in the heat of battle, and others still are risen of their own accord. How and when this happened plays a big part in the Ravener's personal sense of identity.))
Skills ((In their short time in existence, Raveners both male and female have discovered that discipline is a balm to the hunger and the anger that burns brightly inside of them. In mastery of themselves and of their chosen professions, they have found meaning and even joy in the face of the darkness that dwells in all of their species. A Ravener looks at their occupation differently than humans - what they do helps to define them, to make them who they are. Perfection is not the goal, and no specific task defines them as a people, but it is the pursuit that gives them satisfaction. For this, they can become adept at what they give their time.))
