Yeah, something most people don't have on their RP sites, a thread with tips on how to handle cold symptoms and such XD ! Soooo if you have tips that have helped you out feel free to share it! C:
Sore throat tips! (Can help for coughing as well)
Honey Lemonade: Take 1 lemon and a glass, squeeze the lemon into the glass and fill it up with water & some ice until it's about 2-3 inches away from being full. Next put honey in there to taste.
Honey Lemon mix: This one was told to me by Liquid/Grimlock, what you do is you squeeze a lemon into a cup then stir it in with some honey and make it into a coating for your throat. No water, just lemon juice & honey.
Salt water: Gargling salt water is one of the most helpful things you can do to help your throat get better whether its infected or just sore. It can greatly reduce the duration of a sore throat <3
Gargling Vodka: Our awesometastic Hokuto has tried this out and it has helped him before, you don't have to drink the stuff at all just an option to gargle :3
Soup: Mostly chicken based soups are good to use, a common one is chicken noodle soup. Another good one is egg drop soup which is pretty much 2 cans broth and pour in 2-3 eggs (scrambled) into boiling broth. Stir it in gently then take it off the heat. Easy on the stomach, it is <3
Hot Tea: Numerous times it's helped soothe my throat, but then again I noticed for me, personally, hot water bodes well with me in comparison to cold water. (Honey Lemonade is one of the few cold beverages I can actually tolerate with a sore throat)
Lozenges: Usually stuff with honey lemon will be your best bet C:
Fever tips! (103 = get your butt to the doctor if possible, for most people that's in the danger zone)
Cold Water: Drink cold water C: it helps with getting the temperature down.
Cold towel: Get a big bowl then fill it with water and put in some ice, soak the towel then put it on the back of your neck or forehead. Sometimes it's easier to tolerate than an ice pack.
Ice Pack: Fill a ziplock with ice (We double bag it since some times they leak) then wrap it with a towel and place on either your neck or forehead. (Sometimes putting an ice pack on your neck AND forehead are a big help)
Sheet: Sometimes people trying to reduce their fever use a sheet rather than their usual comforters.
Upset Stomach tips!
Ginger: Whether you chew on ginger, have candied versions of it, or even make it into tea and add some honey, this stuff works WONDERS!
Aloe: Not the lotion but the plant since it's medicinal. Fresh is better but you can also get aloe juice from most grocery or asian food stores. For sure Walmart sells aloe juice in their pharmacy area C: this has helped me and my mother in the past. The stuff tastes HORRIBLE but it works wonders! Sometimes I add honey to it when I take it raw blended with water. If you freeze it, skin it, then chop it into cubes you can flick it into your food or drinks and guzzle the suckers down.
Hope these help you folks whether it's for yourself or helping someone else :3 feel free to share your tips!
