He had waited, no expected to be hated and despised. Reviled for what he was and scorned for what he could become. Instead of a slap or hateful words however, he only received words of kindness and a gentle hand once again reassuring him. However this time the hand was on his shoulder, where he could actually feel it. He didn't really know how to act or react, here was not just a woman but an angel that didn't hate him. No in fact she was reassuring him that he was a good person, and not the beast that lurked just below his skin.
He was being overwhelmed with feelings and emotions he had not felt in a long, long time. And as she finished telling him that he was still a good person, he just reacted. Reaching out he wrapped his large arms against the winged woman that was beside him, being careful of her feathered wings. He couldn't really help it, all the years he had spent away from the world and now here was someone that didn't hate him! He held the embrace for a few moments. muttering a small "Thank you......" Before releasing the woman he had probably spooked with the sudden act.

While the hug was a surprise, it was far from unwelcome. Especially when Kaly could feel the overwhelmingly grateful feelings practically radiating off Deus. Needing but a second to register the embrace, her arms soon wrapped around him as best they could. Her wings had shifted, allowing his arms to wrap around her in a more comfortable way as one hand rested on the back of his head. But it only stayed there until she was released, her arms unwrapping themselves from around the 'demon' as she slid back on to the Earth.
"There's no need to thank me for being honest..." She said, although she couldn't helped but feel just a bit pleased for being thanked. It was nice to hear vocal appreciation every once-in-a-while, but it wasn't what she strove for. As long as she managed to help in the end, she didn't care whether or not she was thanked for it.

He was actually quite glad when Kaly returned the gesture instead of being spooked by his sudden action. As he looked into the shorter angels eyes as she spoke to him, he felt a strange feeling begin to rise up within him. It was a very alien emotion to him, but he rather liked it. It felt much like the way he had loved his long past family, but in a way it was quite different. It wasn't stronger or weaker, but rather there was just something more there that he couldn't really place.
He couldn't help the creeping blush that began to warm his tan face as he continued to stare into her grey eyes with his own amber orbs. He had actually started to lean closer before quickly breaking eye contact and looking off to the side, the heavy rosey tinge on his cheeks still. "We....... We should get back to looking for Lynn......" He said, stuttering just a little bit as he looked over the side to try and spot the woman that Kaly called her daughter.

It was odd, feeling her own cheeks burning in such a way. Was it perhaps the strange emotion that had overcome Deus? Or was it from Kaly herself? She couldn't tell at the moment as her grey eyes remained locked with the tall man's own, feeling like she was lost in space for a few moments. She didn't even notice the two of them moving closer until he pulled back and spoke, breaking the spell that left the Angel feeling... Mildly confused.
"Y-Yes, of course!" She agreed almost immediately, heart pounding up a storm in her chest as she turned back to the edge, cleared her throat, and peeked down. She hadn't forgotten about her search - It was still at the top of her mind. Lynn was out there somewhere, alone and possibly in danger... Kaly still had to find her!
"Perhaps we should go in that direction?" She asked, pointing towards their right, "I don't believe I've searched there yet..."

Deus was all to eager to agree with Kaly, doing his best to try and keep his mind off the strange emotions that he had just experienced. The chunk of earth that the two were on quickly shifted directions to where Kaly had pointed, keeping his eyes open for the lost daughter of his new friend.
Was she a friend though? Well Kaly was certainly good company, and she didn't hate him for what he was. Well yet at least, Deus still had some doubts that if she actually saw his other side she might not be so quick to call him a good person. Those things were every bit just a part of him as he was them after all. But at the same time, a ever growing part of him hoped that even if she truely knew his inner demons that she would not hate him.
And maybe even one day return or at least explain these strange feelings that came over him.
The silver haired giant kept his eyes trained on the ground below, actually seeing a fair few people, but none of them matching the description of Lynn.

Minutes ticked on by as they searched, slowly becoming hours. Kaly knew that midnight had passed long ago, judging by the moon that could barely be seen in the dark city sky. The Angel's body was tired and hungry, and despite the fact that her stubborn will was still trying to push on until she located her daughter - Or at least some trace of her - Her mind knew that they would need a break... Less she would become utterly useless on their hunt.
"Perhaps... We should grab a bite to eat," She said, obvious reluctance lacing her words. She turned her eyes away from the world below them, "How are you feeling? We've been at this for a long time. Do you need to rest?"

As time bled by in their search, the taller half-demon could tell that Kaly was not used to such exertion. He himself was beginning to tire as well, however he had been up much longer then her. In fact he himself was also beginning to grow hungry, this fact punctuated by his lightly growling stomach.
At her words the floating chunk of rock began to slowly descend back to the ground below. "Food is my main concern at the moment, I can't remember the last time I ate actually......" Deus muttered aloud, the dirt slab they had been riding touching down and merging with the ground like as if it had always been there. "As for being tired, I could probably go for another eight hours if I get some food, three if I can't......" For Deus it was normal, with his vagabond lifestyle of eleven years he was used to being awake and active for extreme periods of time with little to no food. He rose to his feet, leaning back slightly to let some pops from his back fill the air.

She waited until they were fully on the ground before slowly standing up, stretching her legs, back, and wings. She was feeling a bit stiff due to sitting on their moving bit of ground for hours on end, but she would get over it.
"Well then... Food it is!" She smiled a little as his stomach growled, ignoring her own stomach for the moment. When he mentioned that he couldn't remember the last time he ate, however, a little frown replaced the smile. It worried her, the thought of him going a very long time without sustenance - But she didn't question it, so as not to ruin the mood.
"In that case, what would you like to eat?" She asked, "I wouldn't have a problem cooking, either, unless you want to go to somewhere specific." Unlike him, however, she would need at least a few hours of sleep after filling her belly with food before she would be ready to continue their search at one hundred percent.

Deus gave a small laugh as he scratched the back on his head. "I know the one thing I don't want is cattail roots. I may not remember the last time I ate, but i definitely remember the last things I ate and all I've had for the my entire trip to the city has been cattail roots......" He looked up to the sky, taking a quick glance at the moon and stars "It's about two in the morning, so I doubt many places that serve food will be open..... Or any at this hour that would accept my money at least....."
He reached a metal hand into one of the many satchels he had attached to his waist, rummaging about for something within. With a small handful he pulled out what most would consider a small fortune. Raw flawless rubies and sapphires of various small sizes, perfect for jewelry. Along with the gems were small nuggets of gold and silver almost the same size as a mandarin orange. He revealed his palm of treasure to Kaly. "Think this will be enough for food for the both of us?"

"Well, that's a deal then!" Kaly laughed lightly at Deus's no-cattail roots condition. She had never really had cattail roots before, and briefly wondered how they would taste. Before she could wonder too much about it, a flash of shining colours caught her eyes. Looking into Deus's hand, her eyes went wide and her mouth parted in surprise.
"Deus..." She said, finally registering that the gems he was holding were real, and that there were many of them, "What you hold in your hand could probably feed a small family for about a year or so, at the very least. If not more. Humans, and many other species as well, hold these gemstones and metals to be very precious. They're worth... They're worth a lot." She paused for a second, gently poking one of the pieces he held in his hand as if to see if they were really there, "Although I'm not sure how willing a grocery store or restaurant would be in taking payment in this form... But I would be surprised if they said no."

"Really? huh....." Deus said as he looked at the handful of treasure he had. "I knew people liked the stuff because it's pretty, so it was worth something....... But so much for so little? And here I am being able to just make the stuff......I like to use them for art, here..... Watch........" Deus took the sapphires with his other hand, now aglow with the same yellow hue that he had used to move the earth. The gems, along with the silver quickly began to flow like water together to form a new shape. The silver forming stems and small leaves while the sapphires fusing as one into bell shaped flowers. As the glow left both his hand and the shaped rarity. It had taken on the form of a Bell Heather, a wild flower native to Ireland.
"Ireland right?" Deus asked simply to confirm what he remembered. The gem flower now complete would possibly be familiar to the angel. Deus then placed the gem-flower in Kaly's hair, like as if it were a true flower. "I think it looks nice, but with you it is a true beauty......." He said with a small smile.

"Yes, it's amazing how much value people hold to something that shines just the right way..." Kaly agreed, before she was interrupted by her own gasp. The blue sapphires and silver were molding together right before her eyes as Deus used the same power he had awed her with earlier. As the gem and metal slowly began to form into a familiar shape, Kaly couldn't help but crack a large smile.
"Bell Heather..." She whispered, her voice filled with an odd nostalgic emotion as her hand lifted up to gently touch the delicate creation. She nodded slowly, afraid that the gemstone flowers would fall if she moved her head wrong. Her cheeks were burning with a red to match her hair, and her eyes were cast down as her heart began pounding in her chest once again.
"Y-Yes, that is correct...." She said, gazing back up at him. The smile was still on her face, although now it was filled with warmth and an odd affection, "Thank you, that.... That's very sweet...." She didn't even know what to say in response to such a beautiful gesture!

A small blush began to crawl across the silver haired giants face once again as those strange fluttery feelings crept back into him. He was quite happy that Kaly was enjoying the small token he had crafted for her. Once again, the feelings began to overwhelm him as he leaned down ever closer to the angels pretty freckled face. However he was broken from the strange spell-like trance he had been in by his now-much louder stomach demanding food.
The half-demon quickly stood up strait as the blush he had threatened to take his entire head. He rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment as he looked off to the side. "We should probably find something to eat huh......" He stuttered out again.

Kaly's face turned up as she felt Deus moving in closer. She swallowed a bit, forcing herself to breathe deeply. Then the moment was ruined but a second later, the sound of a hungry stomach making itself known. Nervous chuckles slipped out of the Angel as she looked away once again, hiding her half amused and half jumpy smile.
"Our stomachs would appreciate that," She jested lightly, clearing her throat as she gathered her wits, "How about um... How about I make something? You said it's two am, so there probably aren't many good places open... We'd have better luck buying food and cooking it." She did have a hotel room rented for a few nights as a place to stay while searching for Lynn... And it had a small, yet decent, kitchen. She could certainly scrounge something up for the both of them!

Deus was all too quick to agree with Kaly, doing his best to focus on anything else at the moment. Although the thought of an actual home cooked meal did take his mind off the strange feelings he kept getting around Kaly, and instead now on feeding his rather hungry gut. "Although at this hour the only places open would be convenience stores......" He spoke up, scratching at his chin in thought. He pointed to the north-west. "I think I saw one that way from when we were still flying, we're pretty close to the edge of the park as well........"
Kaly probably had an idea of where to go from there but it did leave the giant pondering slightly as to where Kaly planned to cook the bought food. It was a question for later then now however, he just had to focus on walking along with Kaly to the closest convenience store to get some food instead of how whenever he looked into her sparkling grey eyes he felt really strange.
