He took another bite of the slice, smaller this time so as to avoid what had happened. The taller half-demon swallowed before speaking. "I'll be fine." As Kaly spoke of surprises, Deus simply let out a small chuckle before finishing off the rest of the slice quickly, and it's partner disappearing just as fast.
Hey he was hungry.
Deus let out a small dissatisfied sigh as he spoke. "Well that wasn't as satisfying as I thought it would be....." Deus's stomach agreed with him, growling loudly for more. He looked a little embarrassed at Kaly with a slightly awkward smile. "I guess I was a lot hungrier then I thought I was......" Deus said sheepishly

"Hm..." Kaly frowned thoughtfully, before getting up. "I should have considered that you would need a lot more food than normal!" Many Demons had quite the metabolism, and needed either large meals or food that held more nutrition than normal. Not only that, but with his bigger body Deus would undoubtedly need more food than normal whether he had Demon genetics or not...
Kaly stood up and moved to the kitchen to pick up and bring both of the pizza pans over, setting them on the table before going back to the seat. She gestured towards them with a smile, putting her plate on her lap and grabbing one more slice for herself, "Eat whatever you need - If worse comes to worse, we could always go to the grocery store tomorrow during or before our search and I can get us some proper food..."

Deus didn't need to be told twice to dig in, eating a half of each pizza in what seemed like seconds. However when he had taken another slice he paused, before looking quite sheepish about how quickly he had eaten. "Sorry..... Got a little carried away there....." He still took the piece that he had grabbed, but was now eating much more slowly.
He suddenly paused, looking oddly at the pizza slice. "You know.... Now that I have some food in my gut I can actually remember the last time I ate..... About a week and a half ago in Ohio, bought some cookies from a couple of kids in a small town I was passing through......" He chuckled at the memory slightly. "I think those kids won the "who can sell the most cookies" contest, bought a box and paid with a couple pieces of silver shaped as coins....."

"A week and a half ago??" Kaly sputtered out, horrified. The way he had eaten hadn't bothered her - In fact, it amused her a bit. But when he spoke - The Angel almost halfway through with her own meal - that was when she became horrified, "You haven't eaten in over a whole week?? It's a wonder you're not skin and bones, sweetheart!
She sighed a bit, not even paying attention to the term of endearment that had slipped through during her rambling, "That's settled then - Either way, tomorrow I'm going to get you a full meal that should fill you up!" If anything in this world could...

He looked at Kaly a little oddly at how she had reacted to his lack of eating. And then she even offered a full meal in the morning. "Kaly...... You don't have to do that. I'm really used to it. When your on the move as much as I am you take what you can get but........" He wanted to say that she shouldn't because he probably wouldn't be here tomorrow. but he couldn't really say that. He wanted to stay, with Kaly and maybe have an actual life.
As he thought about leaving Kaly to keep her out of harms way, or stay because of his affections for her cause a strange churning feeling in his gut. It had actually killed his appetite.
"I think I'm done actually....." Deus said quietly, putting the piece of pizza that he had taken back

"Nono, I do!" The Angel implored, setting her plate on the table so she could talk without worrying about it falling on the floor, "No one should have to go weeks without eating!" Especially not someone as kind as Deus! It was simply wrong, at least to her.
Then her stomach dropped. Where he previously had been ravenous, he was now unwilling to eat. She looked down at the slice of pizza, then back up at his face. Her eyes scoured his face, trying to read him without unblocking her Empathy. It wasn't too hard to do, used to reading emotions both on Physical and... Well... Emotional levels. He was thinking of something he didn't want to, something that would effect whatever was between them in a drastic way... She swallowed, also starting to feel a bit sick in the stomach.
"What's wrong, Deus...?"

He let out a sigh, his amber eyes more on the table to not have to look at Kaly then anything. "I know we're been over the whole "I'm dangerous, but you don't really care" thing....... But my mind still comes back to it...." His head shifted slightly left, to look at the metal hand resting on the table. "It also doesn't help that I have a sick twisted monster in my head that wants to hurt you just to hurt me, and the people that had me locked up for a while........ They might want to try that again......" Another sigh escaped him as he looked away from his hand.
He looked up at Kaly, his soft amber eyes searching hers for some sort of answer. "In such a short time I've fallen for you and now...... Now I don't know what I would do if you got hurt because of me, or anyone trying to get me......." His eyes never broke from hers as he spoke. "So now I start thinking of leaving, to make sure you don't get hurt...... But......" His metal hand rose up, covering his face to support the now leaning man as he continued. "Then I get this feeling that it's wrong to leave you, that everything will be okay if I just stay here with you and roll with it. If this is love....... It's really, really confusing......."

Kaly listened to his words, feeling her heart drop heavily down into the pit of her stomach. She thought she had felt sick before, but it was nothing compared to how she felt now... She allowed her Empathy to open just a bit more, so she could get a taste as to how he felt. Tears almost sprang into her eyes, but she pushed them back as she shuffled her seat closer to his so that she could situate herself between his legs and wrap her arms around his larger torso.
"It is confusing, and sometimes it's painful..." She said, addressing his concerns about love, "But love can bring a bounty that nothing else can compare to. As I said before, I'm willing to face through this danger... Kidnapping jerks or homicidal bastards notwithstanding," She smiled a little, pulling back so she could see his face, "I may not be a fighter, but I do have a few tricks up my sleeve that help me hold my own. You don't have to worry about me, Love..."
She had a feeling, though, that the last thing he would do was stop worrying about her.

Deus went rigid for a second when Kaly reached around to hug him as best as she could, but went slack and wrapped a single arm around her returning the gesture. The taller man listened silently as Kaly spoke, bringing words of wisdom to his inexperienced ears. Her words, although not the exact thing he had expected to hear helped soothe the fears that had been growing within him. He released his one armed embrace when the angel pulled away to see him better, and he was indeed looking and feeling better thanks to her.
"I'll try not to worry....... Too much at least....." Deus said, before taking a glance at the clock on the microwave. "Whoa....... It's that late?" The giant man chuckled lightly at how the time had flown from his entrance to the city to now. "Maybe we should get some sleep...... I don't know how long you've been up, but before you met me in the park I had been walking for two days strait......" And before Kaly could say anything about him being awake and walking for so long, he simply gave her a knowing smile. "Don't worry, demonic endurance I guess......" But however he did try, and fail to stop a yawn. "Although with what's happened in the last few hours...... Exhaustion finally caught up with me I guess....."

There was a slight look on her face that said she didn't completely approve of his lack of sleep... But that she wasn't as worried about that as she was with the lack of food. Still, she was also tired... And he had a point. It was late, and they needed to rest before starting their search back up. Deus's yawn was infectious, bringing about one of Kaly's own and causing her arms to stretch out.
"Yes, you are right..." She said, carefully pushing back in her chair and standing up... Before her eyes landed on the single bed. A light flush came to her cheeks at the possible solutions to the predicament of them only having one bed, as well as from the sheepish feelings of having only gotten a single-bed room. She should have thought ahead!
"Why don't you take the bed?" She offered, "You've been sleeping in trees for a long time, I imagine... And while I'm sure they are comfortable when you get used to them, you deserve a comfortable bed."

Deus had been about to protest Kaly offering him the bed, that he was too used to the ground and tree's. But he doubted that Kaly would listen to that argument, for she was to kind and friendly. So he would have to present and argument that she couldn't really argue.
"Kaly...... I couldn't take the bed even if I wanted too....." He said, taking a quick glance to the aforementioned mattress. "It's a six foot long bed, and I'm two feet taller....... Besides......" He reached back with a hand and gave his long hair a slight toss. "I got this to make it softer for me..." He said jokingly with a small smile. He got up from the chair and walked over to besides the bed, and laid down beside the bed showing that in fact he was way too tall to be on the bed in the first place. "Like I said Kaly I don't mind....." He said from his spot on the floor. "Unless when you get up in the morning you step on me, then I might mind a little bit." He joked, the smile on his face obscured by the angle he was currently at.

She was reluctant to admit it, but Kaly knew he was right. She sighed as he laid down, giving a little smile as she relented and sat down at the edge of the bed with a chuckle.
"I guess I'll have to make sure I keep my eye out in the morning then..." She said, before pulling at the blankets and tossing one of the pillows that rested on the bed down to him, "At least humor me and take this?" It would make her feel at least a bit better if he had something to cushion his head - Big, fluffy hair or no! "I'll promise not to bother you about it for a while." She was going to make him at least slightly more comfortable than he normally was, whether he liked it or not!

He just chuckled as he let the pillow land on his face, before taking said pillow and tucking it behind his head. "Fine fine........" He said quietly, getting comfortable on his place on the floor, which was surprisingly easy. Tree's and ground were much harder then a thinly carpeted floor of the motel room. As he lay there, simply staring at the roof that was above, making the man that was so used to stars above have a little hard time falling asleep.
"Kaly......." Deus said aloud, addressing the angel that was just slightly above him. "....... Thanks...... For everything......." He then closed his heavy eyelids, drifting off to the oh so needed and staved off far long enough sleep that he deserved. For it had been a long and rather wild few hours for the half demon.
But it was worth the ride for the chance of meeting Kaly.
