"Convenience stores, hm?" Kaly thought over the options for a few seconds. While the meal they would have most likely wouldn't be completely homemade, convenience stores did supply a few things that she could make by hand. The Angel had nothing wrong with frozen foods, of course, but she had grown up in a time long before they existed... And thus was more used to cooking from scratch than from buying the foods already pre-made.
"Right then, let's go over and see what they have!" She beamed up at him as they moved in that direction, also trying not to think of the emotions swirling around and within her. She was no stranger to romantic feelings of course, having witnessed them in others and felt them mildly within herself... But the strong urge to act on them in some way was odd to her, making her a jumble of anxious nerves reluctant to act first lest she scare him off.
A part of her knew this fear was unfounded - After all, she could feel his own Emotions as bright as Day beside her. But she had little experience in fostering her own relationships, having not felt the desire to pursue one beforehand. Who was she to say how another person would react to her advances...
Gods, all this overthinking was making her feel sick!
".... Maybe if we're lucky, they'll have some ice cream, too...."

Walking side by side with Kaly, it made Deus feel something he had not felt since he had been ten.
Self-conscious.
Before, he hadn't really minded people staring at him. He wasn't one to deny that he was an oddity at his stature and forced choice of attire, but now that Kaly was beside him the eyes of the people felt a little off. But as he kept a nice slow steady pace, so as to not tire out the much shorter angel he realized why the eyes were getting to him now. With Kaly beside him, the attention on him was also on her somewhat. Then again the eyes of the people were on both of them. What with his freakish features, and Kaly having yet to hide her wings. They were a very odd pair, walking through the remnants of the park to the closest corner store.
With all the attention on them Deus had nearly missed the last of Kaly's words. "Ice cream? Huh I haven't had the stuff since I was a kid......." As they passed another couple entering the park, the pair seemed somewhat distracted with each other until their eyes laid on the both of them. However both their eyes lingered on both Kaly and Deus for a bit longer then the others, and they did not stare out of shock. In fact they seemed to be somewhat interested in the two. The woman giving Deus a casual wink, however Deus failed to notice the woman's little flirtatious pass at him because of the male of the couple.For some reason the man did not seem capable of looking above Kaly's neck. The mans eyes on Kaly woke something quite instinctual in Deus, giving the man a very murderous glare for a few seconds and imposed his darker aura on the man. The poor fellow had nearly soiled himself in fear as he bolted, leaving the woman to chase after him.

Kaly didn't notice the way she was walking now, her mind too busy to feel the new sway of her generous hips. What she did notice, however, was the sudden staring at her. She misinterpreted it, however, as people staring at her wings. She didn't like the feeling of so many eyes on her. With a shift of her shoulders, her wings retracted back into her back - Hiding from the world and exposing her shoulder blades to the cold night air.
"Really? Well, there's more reason to get some then!" She looked up at Deus with a little smile, arms crossed in a semi-defensive way. She didn't notice as the man started staring at her with hungry eyes, but she could still subconsciously feel it. It made her skin crawl, goosebumps appearing and making her hairs stand on end. By the time she gave in and looked over to where she felt the eyes coming from the strongest, the man had run off. She was confused for a few seconds, especially when she felt the deep feelings of Jealousy that came from Deus behind her and the lingering Aura that was left behind... She was about to question him about it, but that was before she noticed the woman looking at Deus.
The green monster that hid inside everyone, including Angels, awoke. Jealousy tore at her stomach, causing her to frown and furrow her brows. She could feel her body stiffen more than before, but instead of this being in self defense at all the unwanted eyes it was in envy with a slight bit of rage. She bit it down, however, only giving the women a slight glare before forcing herself to look away.
"Ah! It looks like we're there..." She said as she saw the lights of the convenience store ahead of them, ignoring the sudden wave of a new version of self doubt that washed over her. The woman there was lovely... And while Kaly had no doubts about her own prettiness, and was confident about it more often than not, she found herself uncertain of being attractive enough to the man beside her. It was a silly thing to feel, and she knew it, but it was something she couldn't stop herself from feeling...

Deus hadn't even noticed Kaly's reactions to the eyes that had been on them, his now less intense glare still on the fleeing pervert. Once he was out of sight however Deus shook his head, clearing away the emotion that had quite literally overrode his self control. But now that he was in control once again, his eyes wandered back to Kaly. And though she had retracted her angelic wings it had not done a thing to take away from her heavenly beauty. He also smiled to himself at the craftsmanship in gem-flower he had made for the short Irish angel. Any light seemed to just make it shine no matter the angle, and it simply added to the radiant angelic vision that was Kaly.
However the beauty that had captured his eyes and feelings had also distracted him of the world around them. As they entered the store with Kaly just ahead of him the 'bing' of the opening door was Deus's only warning as he looked up just in time for his face too meet wall.
The severe downside of being an eight foot tall man, with the standard door height at seven feet. Even the clerk had cringed at the sudden CRACK that had filled the air. The silver haired giant had stopped dead in mid-stride upon contact, frozen in place like a statue. There was even visible damage on the wall from within the store with how had Deus had face-planted without even falling.
"Ow......."

They reached the doorway but a few moments later, Kaly's hands landing on it first. She pushed the cool glass door open, listening to the bell let out a single, sweet tinkle... Which was quickly followed by the painful sound of flesh hitting concrete, the building letting out a barely perceived shake that caused the bell to shake where it was hanging.
Kaly didn't hesitate a bit as she turned back around, a gasp ripping its way out. The door rested on her back now as she reached a hand out to try and nudge Deus away from the wall while at the same time tugging him down so she could see what damage had been done to him.
"Oh my Gods, are you alright??" She fussed, hands trying to reach up and cup his face. He was a bit tall, however... And while she technically wasn't short, reaching at the average height of 5'6", she was tiny as could be compared to the giant next to her and had a hard time reaching up, "That was quite a smash! Is your face still in one piece??"

The giant slowly took a step back from the crater he had made in the wall with his face, to most it was terrifying that he had done so much damage to a brick wall with his head. But Deus had metal coating his bones, making him much more durable and all the heavier. All the damage that he had done to himself would easily heal, and was purely cosmetic. His nose was clearly broken, and also bloody. His entire face was scuffed and cut lightly. Most of the damage was healing before the eyes of anyone looking. The gauntlet wearing giant lifted one of his metal hand upwards towards his face, and with a quick grab and twist had reset his nose so that it would heal much quicker. Although the audible snap would probably shake those around him.
"I'll be fine, besides I've had worse....... It's even healing already see?" He said as he complied with Kaly's reaching hands, leaning downwards so now that his face was actually quite level and quite close to the angels own. Only an inch or so separating the two from what could be a somewhat intimate moment.

The sound of Deus resetting his nose cause Kaly to flinch. Although she had seen many horrific injuries in her lifetime, and had healed countless more, but she still held a discomfort towards the painful crackling of bones. But she got over it quickly, especially when Deus came low enough for her to check on him. Her hands went on either side of his face as her eyes looked him over, looking worried. But it was healing in front of him, and she could tell that within a couple minutes the only left over residue would be blood.
"Poor dear..." She murmured, gently pushing a bit of his hair away as she reached into one of her pockets. A handkerchief was pulled out, and as the bruise on his nose slowly dissipated she gently dabbed away at the blood.
It was then that her eyes locked on to his and she noticed how close they were. She could feel his breath on her, the warmth coming off his skin. Her heart once again began pounding as blood rushed instantly to her face. She swallowed, lips parting slightly as if she wanted to say something yet couldn't bring herself to. Butterflies battled in her stomach as her mind was overcome with an odd, thick fog. She could barely feel herself move a millimeter forward, only to stop as she doubted and debated inside her mind...
And then the store clerk cleared their throat.

He had expected Kaly to simply inspect his face of the healing damage and be done with it, but no she just had to take her warm hand with cloth in hand to clean away the blood that had been left behind. The slight contact having started the process of the fluttery feelings within his gut to return, and his face heating up as they locked eyes. As Kaly began to slowly inch towards him, he had been inching closer to her. Their faces barely apart.
Then the clerk had loudly cleared her throat.
The sudden sound, and realization of how close they were had caused the giant man to stand up strait quickly from the slight startling. This of course had caused him to quite literally ram the back of his head into the bottom of the very spot of where his face had impacted. Although this time the only audible crack had come from the stone beginning to give from the severe beating it was receiving.
Another deadpan "Ow....." Escaped the giant, keeping his head low as he took a few steps into the store before standing up strait, a metal hand rubbing at the now sore spot on his head. "Lets....... Lets just get what we need and go, before I do any more damage......"

Kaly had jumped as well, although she didn't go nearly as high as Deus. Once again, the building shook - This time just a bit more. The Angel let out a strangled gasp as the need to help and take care of flashed through her again... But the tall man was fine, she knew. She hesitated for but a moment after he spoke, before letting out a nod.
"R-Right, I'll... I'll be quick, promise! You just... Be careful, okay?" She said, giving him one last worried look before she scampered off to gather whatever she could. The Clerk had her arms crossed, looking mildly... Well... Cross at the destruction to her store.
"Oh, you'll be lucky if the owner doesn't sue you!" She huffed a bit, before a sneaky little grin came to her face and she made her way over to his side. Her eyes were scanning along his form, intention far from innocent, "You know, I could take you to the back... We got a first aid kit back there, can check up the back of that head of yours...." The way she said it suggested more than just 'checking up'! "And I can always take care of the camera footage... Make sure the boss doesn't know it's you..."

"Right, I'll be fine......" Deus muttered, his head still ringing slightly from the double impact his brain had suffered. As Deus watched Kaly dart off to get the foodstuffs both their stomachs craved he almost didn't notice the clerk speaking to him. "Hmm?" He muttered as he looked between the girl and the damage he had caused. "It's not too bad of damage, as for me I'll be fine......" When the girl mentioned taking care of the evidence, the giant just shook his head as he reached into one of the satchels he had. "Nah, you don't have to do that for me, thanks though...... Here I think this should cover the damage expenses." And thats when Deus pulled a diamond from the satchel.
And this was no simple gem, this was a rock! About the size of a babies head, and with so many facets it almost looked like a small disco ball. He then simply placed the giant gem on the counter casually, like as if this was normal and nothing to him. To which it was, however he had no idea how a woman would react to a stone of that magnitude simply being handed out.

Frustration was the first reaction that the woman let known. Was he purposefully spurning her advances?? Or was he really as oblivious to it as it seemed?? That was quickly washed away, however, when a large, sparkling diamond was brought out into the open. The Clerk's eyes widened, and her jaw dropped to the floor (Not literally, of course - She's not a zombie!). A few sputtering noises escaped her as she tried to gather her wits, stalling her long enough for Kaly to come back with a decent amount of food in her arms.
".... I think that would cover all of this as well?" Kaly said, breaking the woman a bit out of her stupor. She blinked at the Angel, before finally noticing the items in her arms and nodding slowly.
"Um.... Y-Yeah, it should...." She said, looking back at the diamond. She had never seen one so big! ".... I'd be surprised if it didn't...." An awkward silence (at least for Kaly) filled the air for a few seconds longer. The Angel shuffled her feet, before clearing her throat. The clerk jumped a bit, before realizing that she should be ringing the items up. She scampered right back around the counter, quickly ringing the redhead's things up while looking at the large diamond every once-in-a-while.

Deus just stared at the clerk oddly for a moment, before shrugging at her reaction to the stone. As Kally had said earlier they were worth a lot, so he figured a really big one should cover the damage his hard head had caused. Although now he thought about it, the way she had approached him earlier had been a little odd. He'd probably ask Kaly about it later, she knew more then he did after all.
J stood in silence as the cashier finished ringing the items up as Kaly placed them on the counter. Once everything was paid for and ready to go, he would take the bags so that Kaly didn't have too. After all it was polite to carry things for friends correct? Although this time on his way out of the store he would duck to avoid any more damage.
As he walked alongside Kaly, letting her lead the way to their next destination what the woman had said to him began to nag at him more. "That clerk was a little odd......" Deus started off, looking to the stars above. "She tried getting me to go to the back room with her, although she said it with a strange tone of voice...... Like as if she wanted something......"

Kaly was leading the way by the time they got back on to the streets. She had a vague idea of where they were, and if she was correct... Then the hotel she had booked a room in wouldn't be too far away. So they walked block after block in silence for a short while, Kaly enjoying Deus's company as her mind wandered to quite a few things - From how she was going to make what she had gathered, to the search for Lynn that they would continue once they were fed up and well rested...
Before her mind could delve too deep into the subject of her lost daughter, Deus spoke up. She blinked, turning her gaze up at him as he mentioned the clerk being odd. She frowned thoughtfully, about to agree with him - Although for different reasons - when he spoke about the woman's attempt to get him into the back. The Angel nearly stumbled, but managed to catch herself and clear her throat.
"Really? Like what?" She asked, part of her not wanting to make assumptions about the woman's intention while the other part simply wanted to feign ignorance in hope that she wouldn't get jealous.
It wasn't working.

At Kaly's question, he actually had to think on it. He had no idea that she had been flirting with him. He had no idea of the concept really, so he scratched at the bottom if his chin for a moment. "Well....... It was.... Hmm...." However something caught his attention that would help explain. "She was acting like that......" Deus said as he pointed ahead to the curb that they were slowly approaching, however it wasn't a what that he had pointed at rather a who.
The woman was clearly an 'escort', with her knee high leather boots and tight clothes that left nothing to the imagination. She was currently being rather flirtatious with a young gentleman who was standing with her. The woman was pulling out all the stops to get the gentleman's attention as she leaned against the wall.
"Yeah, the clerk was talking just like that....." Deus said, oblivious to what he had insinuated and what the potential reaction from Kaly could be.

Upon seeing the prostitute, and hearing Deus say that the clerk had been acting like that, Kaly's first reaction was to let out a laugh. It was quick, and only part of it was from honest amusement while the rest was simply from nerves. She covered her mouth as it died out, looking away from the working woman as she guided Deus around the next corner.
"So um.... So you're saying she was coming on to you?" She continued their conversation, trying not to sound jealous. For the most part she managed to hide it, but there was still a small hint of it somewhere in her voice, "That is to say, she was trying to have sex with you." Perhaps being blunt wasn't the best idea, but Kaly also didn't really find the need to skirt around the issue of sex!
